Co-Owners Darin and Netra Van Tassell with O'Hearn, Hampton, and DeLoach
Three players from the Tormenta FC Academy have signed professional contracts with the first team, the club announced Thursday. Midfielders Tristan DeLoach and Grant Hampton and goalkeeper Stephen O’Hearn join 15 players on Tormenta FC’s current first team roster.
“Tristan, Grant and Stephen have all earned this opportunity as they fit the profile of character and competency that we look for in Tormenta FC professional players,” said Tormenta FC Head Coach John Miglarese. “This is an exciting time for the club as it locks in the path to pro for young players like Tristan, Grant and Stephen. I am excited to be a part of it.”
DeLoach became the first ever Tormenta FC Academy product to sign with the first team midway through the 2019 season. Playing on an academy contract, DeLoach made his lone appearance for the professional club in July.
Hampton signs with Tormenta FC after ten years in the Academy. The Savannah, Ga. native made four appearances for Tormenta FC 2 in USL League Two in 2019, helping the club win the Deep South Division and Southern Conference titles.
O’Hearn also spent a decade in the Tormenta FC Academy before signing with the pro club. The 16-year old goalkeeper has been lauded for his footwork and confidence on the ball.
