TUCSON, Ariz. – Five teams from Major League Soccer including former tournament champions Sporting Kansas City, the Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake will be part of the 10th edition of the Visit Tucson Sun Cup, hosted by USL League One club FC Tucson, as the schedule for the preseason tournament was announced on Tuesday.
The Dynamo, Sporting, and RSL will be joined in the traditional preseason tournament by the New York Red Bulls, Columbus Crew and the USL Championship’s Phoenix Rising FC, with the event set to be held between February 15-22 at both Kino North Stadium in Tucson and Casino Arizona Field in Scottsdale.
The 2020 Visit Tucson Sun Cup will be played in a round-robin format with three games each day, with each team playing three games over the week of action. The tournament’s winner will be determined by total points earned in three matches. Teams will earn three points for a win, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss.
