Tormenta FC has signed Luca Mayr to a League One contract after the midfielder tallied eight goals and five assists in 16 appearances for Tormenta FC 2 in USL League 2 during the 2019 season. 

"Luca is a top midfield player who has mobility, a knack for goals and an endless work rate," Tormenta FC Head Coach John Miglarese said. “He played exceptionally well over the summer with Tormenta 2, and it firmly convinced our staff that he was someone we wanted to sign. It is exciting to see our pro pathway via our Academy and USL League Two continue to service our first team."

Prior to joining the Tormenta FC organization, Mayr played four seasons at the University of South Carolina. The Austrian midfielder scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists in 64 matches for the Gamecocks. 

Mayr joins Abuchi Obinwa as two Tormenta FC 2 players to sign contracts with the professional side ahead of the 2020 season. Mayer is the 12th player on Tormenta FC’s current 2020 roster.
