North Texas SC has signed former San Antonio FC striker Alex Bruce to a one-year contract with an option for 2021, the club announced Friday. 

Bruce appeared in 23 USL League One matches last season while on loan from San Antonio FC with Lansing Ignite FC. The Gateshead, England native scored three goals for the Ignite in 2019. 

Bruce and current North Texas SC Head Coach Eric Quill will reunite after winning the U.S. Soccer Development Academy title together during their time with Texans SC Houston. 

Bruce is the first new signing for North Texas this offseason, joining returners Ronaldo Damus, Arturo Rodriguez, Brecc Evans, Oscar Romero, Carlos Avilez, Imanol Almaguer, and David Rodriguez on the club’s current 2020 roster.
