Greenville Triumph SC has re-signed defender Cole Seiler and midfielder Carlos Gomez for the 2020 season, the club announced Wednesday. Seiler and Gomez are the tenth and eleventh players to be added to the Triumph’s 2020 roster.

Seiler was selected to the All-League First Team after starting 28 matches for the League One Runners-Up, playing both as a right back and a center back in the league’s best defense. Seiler was the lone defender in League One to win more than 100 aerial duels in 2019, recording 107 at a 61.8 percent success rate, and also ranked in the top four among defenders in duels won with 176.

Gomez led the way for the Triumph in the attacking third in 2019, finishing with a team-high six assists while notching seven goals. The Madrid, Spain native shouldered much of the scoring burden after leading-scorer Jake Keegan suffered a season-ending foot injury in August. Gomez also finished fourth in the league in chances created (48) and led Greenville in dribbles completed (41).

Greenville’s 2020 roster now stands at 11 and includes new signing Brandon Fricke and ten returning players from the 2019 squad.
