FRISCO, Texas – North Texas SC midfielder David Rodriguez has been included in a five-player contingent that will join Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich for a two-week training period with the club’s U19s and U23s between November 11-25 in Germany.

Rodriguez is joined by 2019 USL League One All-League selection Ricardo Pepi, Edwin Cerrillo, Bryan Reynolds and Thomas Roberts, all of whom featured for North Texas during its postseason run to the inaugural League One title in October.

The 17-year-old signed with North Texas SC on February 20 and joined his older brother Arturo Rodriguez ahead of the club’s inaugural season. Rodriguez scored two goals and added an assist in 19 USL League One games. His first professional goal was assisted by Arturo and his first assist was to his older brother as well. Despite only starting 13 games, Rodriguez tied for 17th in League One in chances created with 32.

The training period continues the Elite Player Development Partnership between FC Dallas and Bayern Munich that began in February 2018. For Reynolds and Roberts, it will be a second visit to Bayern, which also previously welcomed current FC Dallas Homegrown players Paxton Pomykal, Brandon Servania and Reggie Cannon for training.

The partnership has also seen young American standout Chris Richards make the move to Bayern from Dallas this past January.
