TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One announced on Wednesday the five nominees for the League One Player of the Month award for September & October, with top performers from the final five weeks of the league’s inaugural campaign selected for the ballot.
Voting in the USL Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following two voting bodies:
The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Monday, October 14.
Please note: The League One Player of the Month selections process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as League One Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.
USL League One Player of the Month – September/October
Ronaldo Damus, North Texas SC – Damus recorded six goals and added one assist in four appearances, scoring at a rate of a goal every 57.8 minutes, to earn the League One Golden Boot.
Carlos Gomez, Greenville Triumph SC – Gomez helped lead Greenville into a place in the postseason with five goals and 18 chances created in six appearances for the side.
Akira Fitzgerald, Richmond Kickers – Fitzgerald led League One with 26 saves over the final five weeks of the season, posting three shutouts and a save percentage of 76.5 percent.
Tumi Moshobane, Lansing Ignite FC – Moshobane scored four goals in four appearances as he helped Ignite FC earn its place in the postseason while also reaching double-digit goals for the season individually.
Jordan Perruzza, Toronto FC II – Perruzza scored six goals in seven appearances to complete his first full professional campaign with 15 goals as TFC II won three of its final five games of the season.
