TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One announced on Thursday the five nominees for the League One Player of the Month award for August, with top performers from the fourth full month of the league’s inaugural campaign selected for the ballot.
Voting in the USL Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following two voting bodies:
The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, September 12.
Please note: The League One Player of the Month selections process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as League One Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.
USL League One Player of the Month – August
Jordan Jones, FC Tucson – Jones had four goals and one assist to move into the team-lead in goals and help Tucson to a four-game undefeated streak that kept its playoff chances moving strongly.
Tumi Moshobane, Lansing Ignite FC – Moshobane had three goals and two assists while also being credited with 12 chances created as Lansing moved up to second place in the league standings.
Dallas Jaye, Greenville Triumph SC – Jaye recorded four shutouts in five appearances, conceding only once while recording 11 saves to help Triumph SC into the playoff positions.
Daniel Jackson, Richmond Kickers – Jackson was a model of efficiency for the Kickers as he scored three goals on three shots on goal and five shots overall over the month.
Arturo Rodriguez, North Texas SC – Rodriguez continued his strong overall campaign with one goal, two assists and a league-high 14 chances created as North Texas closed in on a postseason berth.
