TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One announced on Thursday the five nominees for the League One Player of the Month award for July, with top performers from the fourth full month of the league’s inaugural campaign selected for the ballot.
Voting in the USL Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following two voting bodies:
The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, August 8.
Please note: The League One Player of the Month selections process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as League One Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.
USL League One Player of the Month – July
Rafael Mentzingen, Lansing Ignite FC – Mentzingen recorded two goals and three assists, completed 10 dribbles and had six key passes as his side went undefeated during the month.
Jordan Jones, FC Tucson – Jones recorded two goals and two assists, completed three key passes and had four shots on goal to boost Tucson in the race for the postseason.
Conner Antley, South Georgia Tormenta FC – Antley had one goal, two assists and 11 key passes while recording 35 recoveries and completing 15 of 22 dribbles over the month.
Carlos Avilez, North Texas SC – Avilez recorded six saves and three punches while posting three shutouts as North Texas SC remained on top of the league standings.
Tyler Polak, Greenville Triumph SC – Polak recorded two assists, four key passes, 12 interceptions and completed 131 of 159 passes over the course of the month.
