Tormenta trounces Orlando City B

Orlando City B (1) v South Georgia Tormenta FC (4)

Tormenta FC defeated Orlando City B, 4-1, Wednesday night at Montverde Academy.

Key Events:

Marco Micaletto opened the scoring for the visitors, finishing Conner Antely’s cutback in the 7th minute.

Antley and Micaletto connected again in a similar fashion to double the lead in the 14th minute as Micaletto scored his sixth goal of the season and Antely recorded his fifth assist.

Alex Morrell made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute finishing another serve that came from the right flank. Lucas Coutinho skipped his way to the endline and played a low cross through the six-yard box, leaving Morrell with a tap in for his fourth goal of the season.

Orlando City B pulled a goal back before halftime from a set piece just outside Tormenta’s box. Serginho served the free kick towards the penalty area with pace so that Thiago Souza just needed to redirect it past goalkeeper Pablo Jara for his fifth goal of the season.

Tormenta pushed its lead back to three goals in the 61st minute from a corner kick. Charlie Dennis served an in-swinging ball to an unmarked Antley who planted himself in front of goalkeeper Juliano Chade. Antley nodded the ball in to make in 4-1.

Wednesday’s victory snaps a three-game winless run for Tormenta FC and cuts North Texas SC’s lead at the top of the table to five points. The four goals scored against OCB were the most scored in a single match this season for John Miglarese's side. Tormenta will look to keep the league-leaders within reach when they return home to host Lansing Ignite FC this Saturday.

OCB has now lost three straight matches and seven of their last eight. They remain in tenth place with nine games left to play this season and a trip to Madison on the horizon.
