greenville triumph sc (1) v lansing ignite fc (1)

Greenville Triumph SC battled back to earn a point at home against Lansing Ignite FC after falling behind midway through the first half.

Nick Moon claimed Lansing's goal in the 30th minute, rising to meet Robinson Moshobane's cross served in from the right side. The goal was Moon's third of the season and second in as many games.

Cole Seiler equalized for Greenville in the 66th minute, nodding home a Christopher Bermudez corner kick to score his first goal of the USL League One season.

Takeaways:

SEILER STRONG: Cole Seiler was excellent in the match against the Ignite. In addition to grabbing the equalizer, Seiler completed 84% of his passes, won 10 of 13 duels, and was the anchor of a back four that allowed three shots on target all night. Seiler and his center back partner Tyler Polak are proving to be one of the best defensive pairings in the league thus far.

HE'S A KEEPER: Stefan Cleveland has played every minute for Lansing since arriving on loan from Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire in May. Cleveland showed his quality on Saturday night, making five saves on 16 shots, 13 of which came from inside the box. Had it not been for Seiler's looping header, Cleveland would have earned his third clean sheet in five matches.

ROAD WARRIORS RETURN HOME: Saturday's match in Greenville was Lansing's fourth in a row away from home. The draw brought the Ignite's point total to five from a possible 12 on the tough road stretch. Cooley Law School Stadium will be a welcomed sight for LCFC next week when the club returns home to host Toronto FC II.

HITTING THE ROAD: Conversely, Saturday's match was Greenville's last at home in the month of June. The Triumph will head out on the road for three straight matches against Chattanooga, Orlando and North Texas, before returning home to host Orlando on July 13.

richmond kickers (0) v chattanooga red wolves sc (2)

Chattanooga Red Wolves SC defeated the Richmond Kickers, 2-0, Saturday night at City Stadium to extend its unbeaten run to three games.

Amirgy Pineda opened the scoring in the 62nd minute, capping off a swift Red Wolves counter attack. Pineda hammered a shot past Akira Fitzgerald after receiving a pass from Sito Seoane.

Seoane and Pineda connected again in the 92nd minute to put the game on ice. This time Pineda played Seoane through and the center forward opened his hips and slotted it home.

Takeaways:

WINNING COMBINATION: Pineda and Seoane connected several times throughout the match, with both notching their first goals and assists of the season. Both players stepped up in a big way to lift their side to a crucial road victory while the club's leading goal-scorer, Eamon Zayed, was unavailable.

ROAD WIN: Saturday's win over Richmond was Chattanooga's first on the road this season. Head Coach Tim Hankinson will be pleased with his sides effort in what was a dominant 2-0 victory away from home.

WELCOME TO THE TOP FOUR CONVERSATION: Three points on Saturday moved the Red Wolves into a tie with FC Tucson for fourth place in the League One standings. The win also extended Chattanooga's unbeaten run to three matches, their longest of the season. They'll look to continue the positive momentum next week when they host the Greenville Triumph.

CAN'T STOP THE SKID: Richmond's loss on Saturday night extended the club's unbeaten streak to five matches, with its last win coming on May 11 against FC Tucson at home. The Kickers have now been shutout in each of their last three contests and have dropped to eighth place in the League One standings.

forward madison (2) fc v fc tucson (1)

Forward Madison FC defeated FC Tucson, 2-1, Saturday night at Breese Stevens Field.

Paulo Junior opened the scoring for Madison just 45 seconds into the match, nodding home a cross served in from the right side by Brian Bement to score his second goal of the season.

Paulo Junior played provider on the second goal as he found J.C. Banks with a cutback near the penalty spot. Banks' first-time effort was on target and beat goalkeeper Carlos Merancio Valdez.

Kyle Venter cut Madison's lead in half in the 95th minute, finishing off a looping cross served in by Eric Virgen, but it was too little to late and the home side took all three points.

Takeaways:

MUCH NEEDED WIN: Saturday's victory over Tucson was Madison's first in league play since May 4th. The Flamingos desperately needed three points this weekend to stay keep pace with the clubs above them in the table. Madison still sits in tenth place, but, after Saturday's win is only four points back of fourth place FC Tucson and Chattanooga Red Wolves.

PAULO SHOW: Paulo Junior put on a show for the fans at Breese Stevens Field Saturday night, scoring his second goal of the season and notching an assist on Madison's other goal. The tricky winger also hit the post in the match and showed his quality in the attacking third throughout the night.

FAST START, GOOD START: Paulo Junior's goal 45 seconds into the match is the fastest goal scored in League One's short history. The quick start helped Madison exert itself on a tired FC Tucson side that traveled across the country and played in Orlando on Wednesday night.

south georgia tormenta fc (2) v orlando city b (0)

South Georgia Tormenta FC defeated Orlando City B, 2-0, Saturday Night at Erk Russell Park.

Mikie Rowe opened the scoring for the home side, hammering home his own rebound in the 54th minute.

Alex Morrell doubled the lead in the dying moments of the match, beating his defender at the top of the penalty area and calmly tucking the ball in at the near post to score his third goal of the season.

Takeaways:

HOME FORTRESS: Saturday's win was Tormenta's fourth in five matches at home this season. The South Georgia club has dropped points just once at Erk Russell Park, which came in the form of a 0-0 draw to Lansing Ignite. Saturday's match was the first of three straight at home for Tormenta.

ROWE OFF AND RUNNING: The former Young Harris University standout scored his first professional goal to give Tormenta the lead early on in the second half. Rowe's strike broke Tormenta's 134 minute scoreless streak. Morrell's goal in the 85th minute was also a welcomed sight for Tormenta FC fans as he notched his first goal since Week 2.

ALL EYES ON JULY 20: Tormenta FC's win over Orlando helped the club close the gap on North Texas SC to one point. The league-leaders had the weekend off, providing Tormenta with a golden opportunity to make up ground as they continue to chase the top spot. Should things continue as they have through the first 12 weeks of the season, the top two teams in the league will meet for the first time on July 20 at Toyota Stadium.
