ORLANDO, Fla -- Orlando City B will move to a state-of-the-art training facility at Ocala Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida beginning in 2020 the club announced Wednesday. OCB will train alongside Orlando City SC’s first team and development academy at the new complex.

“I can’t emphasize the importance of having everyone together,” Orlando City Head Coach James O’Connor said in a club statement. “You have the first team players, the academy players and the OCB players all working under the same philosophy; they’re all working together and there’s a family atmosphere about what you are trying to do.”

O’Connor will be hoping the philosophy and family atmosphere becomes palpable at the new 20-acre complex. The facility, which is currently under construction, will include three natural grass fields, one artificial turf field, a fitness, training and recovery center, film room, players’ lounge, and a meal room.

“We are very excited and appreciative that the club has decided to increase its already considerable investment in the new training complex, showing its commitment to the development of our youth players and the future of Orlando City,” said Orlando City Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi. “The move to Osceola is a huge step for this club.”

In addition to the news of the new training facility, OCB also announced former New England Revolution Assistant Coach Marcelo Neveleff will oversee operations of the club. Neveleff will assist Muzzi with laying the pathway from the Club’s Development Academy to the First Team, with OCB serving as the bridge between the two.

During his time in New England, Neveleff worked with U.S. Soccer as both a technical advisor for the Boys’ Development Academy and as an assistant for the U-20 Men’s National Team. In 2017, he was part of a staff that helped lead the U-20s to the CONCACAF U-20 Championship.

Orlando City B continues League One play this weekend as it looks to extend its two-game winning streak on the road against FC Tucson.
