GREENVILLE, S.C. – Greenville Triumph goalkeeper Dallas Jaye has been selected by the Guam Men’s National Team for its upcoming matches that serve as both the opening round of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the preliminary qualifiers for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

The Matao will play in the first leg of the competition at the Bhutan Football Federation on June 6 before travelling back to Guam to host Bhutan on June 11 for the 2nd leg. The winner of this pairing will advance to the second round, set to begin in September.

“Playing for Guam has been a special part of my career so far,” said Jaye. “I’m looking forward to being a part of it again soon.”

Jaye made his international debut for Guam in 2012, and two years later stepped on the field as a substitute and helped preserve a 3-0 victory against Chinese Taipei as he saved a penalty kick in the 88th minute.

After a solid performance from Jaye, Guam also earned a clean sheet against Oman in 2016.

The 25-year-old is currently tied for third in USL League One with three shutouts on the season. He has started in all nine games for the Triumph this season and has only conceded six goals.
