Tucson’s Jambga Named League One Player of the Week

Notched pair of goals as side shifted up standings following victory against Red Wolves

TAMPA, Fla. – FC Tucson midfielder Devyn Jambga has been named the USL League One Player of the Week for Week 8 of the league’s inaugural 2019 season.

Jambga struck twice as Tucson took its biggest victory of its inaugural professional season on Saturday night against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, which saw the side jump up to fifth in the League One standings.

GK – Pablo Jara, South Georgia Tormenta FC: Jara recorded a six-save shutout to help lead Tormenta FC to a 1-0 road victory against Forward Madison FC.

D – Matheus Silva, Orlando City B: Silva logged 10 recoveries and four clearances while completing 64 of 69 passes as Orlando won its first game of the season against Toronto FC II.

D – Kody Wakasa, FC Tucson: Wakasa found the net, won 6 of 8 duels, recorded eight recoveries and made two interceptions as Tucson took a shutout victory against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.

D – Conner Antley, South Georgia Tormenta FC: Antley scored the lone goal of the game, made 13 recoveries and completed four dribbles as Tormenta FC took victory on the road in Madison.

M – Devyn Jambga, FC Tucson: Jambga struck twice and posted 10 recoveries as Tucson took its biggest win of the season against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.

M – Cole Seiler, Greenville Triumph SC: Seiler was a creative force in Greenville’s 1-0 win against Richmond, recording seven key passes and completing 42 of 52 passes overall.

M – Lucas Coutinho, South Georgia Tormenta FC: Coutinho had a strong two-way performance as he won 12 of 18 duels and made seven recoveries while also completing seven dribbles and 31 of 36 passes.

M – Xavier Gomez, Lansing Ignite FC: Gomez notched an assist in Lansing’s 2-2 draw with North Texas and also recorded 12 recoveries and completed 22 of 30 passes.

F – Ricardo Pepi, North Texas SC: Pepi notched his fifth goal of the season to kickstart North Texas’ comeback in Lansing and completed 12 of 16 passes overall.

F – Thiago Souza, Orlando City B: Souza had a tight all-around performance, scoring once and winning 13 of 18 duels while completing 21 of 24 passes in Orlando’s first win of the season.

F – Jake Keegan, Greenville Triumph SC: Keegan scored the game-winner and had two key passes while completing 14 of 18 passes overall in Triumph SC’s victory against the Richmond Kickers.
