Orlando, Chattanooga end scoreless in Florida

Despite chances for both sides, Orlando City B and Chattanooga Red Wolves finish scoreless.

ORLANDO CITY B VS CHATTANOOGA RED WOLVES SC

MONTVERDE, Fla. - Orlando City B earned its second point and first clean sheet of the season Friday night, holding Chattanooga Red Wolves SC to a 0-0 draw at Montverde Academy. The scoreless draw marks the second time in two matches both sides have been held without a goal. Friday’s lack of goals was the result of the inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. There were 33 total shots in the match, with OCB holding a 21-12 advantage, but neither side could put the finishing touches on solid build up to break the deadlock. The Red Wolves created a flurry of changes just after halftime, the best of which fell to veteran center forward Eamon Zayed. Zayed latched on to a long ball over the top and beat Orlando goalkeeper Juliano Chade leaving him charging towards an empty goal, but Matheus Silva recovered well to block Zayed’s shot and preserve the shutout. Minutes later, Orlando created an equally dangerous chance at the other end. The ball was worked through midfield and out to Moises Tablante on the left flank. Tablante chipped a cross towards Thiago Souza on the back post who nodded the ball on frame from three yards out, but goalkeeper Alex Mangels managed to get a hand to it and keep the score tied at zero. The draw leaves OCB in search of its first win of 2019 and the Red Wolves without its first road victory of the season.
