Second half rally gives Madison first win in club history

Friday night brought the first goal, and the first win in Forward Madison FC's history.

ORLANDO CITY B (1), FORWARD MADISON FC (2)

MONTVERDE, Fla. – Forward Madison FC made history on Friday night, scoring two second-half goals to down Orlando City B and claim its first ever win in League One competition. Having dropped its first two contests on the road, Madison was eager for a good result, but again found itself trailing early after captain Connor Tobin was adjudged to have fouled Orlando’s Luc Granitur inside the penalty area. Koby Osei-Wusu stepped and coolly sent Madison keeper Ryan Coulter the wrong way to give OCB the lead. Undeterred and full of life, Madison came storming back in the second half, however, first finding the back of the net through Panamanian international Josiel Núñez, and then again just 12 minutes later when Núñez’ spectacularly struck free kick caromed off the post and on to the foot of teammate Shaun Russell. Despite a late surge forward from Orlando, Madison was able to withstand the pressure and hold on for the first win in club history. A night to remember for flamingo fans everywhere.
