Chipped finish by Canadian U-20 international earned top spot in weekly poll

TAMPA, Fla. – Toronto FC II’s Jordan Perruzza has claimed the USL League One Fan’s Choice Goal of the Week for Week 2 of the league’s inaugural season as his fine chipped finish that sealed his side’s 2-0 victory against Orlando City B last Friday night took top spot in the weekly online poll.

A graduate of the TFC Academy, the Canada U-20 international scored twice for the Reds late in the club’s 2018 campaign. He picked up where he left off in Toronto FC II’s debut in League One with a clever chip past the advancing OCB goalkeeper from the top of the penalty area in the 86th minute that iced Toronto’s victory.

Peruzza’s goal earned 50 percent of the poll conducted online at USLLeagueOne.com that concluded on Thursday lunchtime. Chattanooga Red Wolves SC’s Eamon Zayed finished second with 27 percent for a looping finish from just inside the top of the penalty area that earned the Red Wolves a 1-0 victory against Forward Madison FC, while South Georgia Tormenta FC’s Marco Micaletto finished third with 23 percent for his bending finish from the top-right corner of the penalty area into the bottom-left-corner of the net against FC Tucson.
