TORONTO – Toronto FC II announced on Tuesday the club had signed defender Jelani Peters to a USL League One contract for the 2019 season. He will join the club’s roster pending league and federation approval.

Peters rejoins TFC II after having originally arrived on loan with the club from W Connection F.C. of the Trinidad & Tobago Pro League during the 2017 season, when he appeared in three games for the side. The 25-year-old missed the entire 2018 season due to an injury, but now returns to the side ahead of Toronto’s opening game of the 2019 League One campaign against Orlando City B this Friday.

During his time with W Connection F.C., the Trinidad & Tobago native made a combined 22 appearances across league play and the Concacaf Champions League.
