New professional league set to kick off historic inaugural season this weekend

TAMPA, Fla. – Ahead of the start of USL League One’s historic inaugural season on Friday night, the 2019 USL League One Media Guide is now available from the league’s website.

Opening a new era for professional soccer in North America, the USSF Division III-sanctioned league will kick off with 10 teams in its first season. The opening game in league history will see South Georgia Tormenta FC – which on Wednesday broke ground on its permanent 5,300-seat stadium scheduled to open in 2020 – play host to Greenville Triumph SC.

League One will play a 140-game regular season schedule in a single-table format, with the top four teams advancing to the postseason in October. Every game of League One’s inaugural season can be seen through the league’s broadcast partner ESPN, with every game airing live on ESPN+, the Worldwide Leader in Sports’ video streaming subscription service.
