Delgado's brace leads Tucson to first win; Pepi bags hat trick in Frisco

Ricardo Pepi scores first hat trick in League One history as North Texas beats Chattanooga, Lansing and Tucson pick up first wins in club history.

ORLANDO CITY B (1) VS FC TUCSON (3)

ORLANDO, Fla. - A Guillermo Delgado brace helped FC Tucson defeat 10-man Orlando City B at Saturday night. Luis Martinez created the first goal in FC Tucson history, latching on to a long ball over the top and touching it around goalkeeper Luca Mancuso. Delgado ran onto the end of Mancuso’s touch and tapped the ball into the open net. Orlando were reduced to 10 men when Randy Mendoza was issued a red card just before halftime. Delgado turned provider minutes after the sending off, playing a cheeky back heel to Christopher Wright who smashed home to double the lead. Delgado extended the advantage to three midway through the second half, running onto a through ball from midfield and chipping Mancuso. Christopher Osei Wusu scored Orlando City B’s first League One goal minutes after Delgado’s second to cut into the deficit, but the three-goal lead would prove insurmountable and FC Tucson left Florida with the first professional win in club history.

Richmond Kickers (2) VS Lansing Ignite FC (3)

RICHMOND, Va. - Lansing found its footing early in Richmond, jumping out to a three-goal lead at City Stadium early on in the second half. It took Robinson Moshobane just 19 minutes to score the Ignite’s first goal in league history, calmly finishing Steeven Saint Duc’s cutback from eight yards out. Lansing doubled the lead less than ten minutes later after San Antonio FC loanee Alex Bruce forced a turnover in the attacking third. After winning possession back, Bruce found Nick Moon inside the penalty area. Moon flicked the ball into the path of Xavier Gomez’s slashing run and Gomez slotted the ball past Richmond goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald. Lansing added a third four minutes after the start of the second half when Gomez and Kevin Coiffic connected on a set piece. The Kickers mounted a comeback with goals from captain Maxi Rodriguez and Joe Gallardo eight minutes apart midway through the second half, but the effort fell short and Lansing took home the first win in club history.
