Michael Kirk Lands in Lansing

Former Riverhound joins Ignite

LANSING, Mich. - Lansing Ignite has signed goalkeeper Michael Kirk for the 2019 season, the club announced Monday.

Kirk joins the Ignite after spending the previous two seasons in the USL Championship with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and RIo Grand Valley FC Toros.  The six-foot goalkeeper earned two clean sheets in seven appearances during his two Championship seasons. 

“We are very excited to welcome Mike to the club,” said Lansing Head Coach Nate Miller. “He has had some valuable experiences in the league and we believe he has an opportunity now to really excel."

Kirk competed collegiality at La Salle University for four years beginning in 2012, playing for the Ocean City Nor’easters of USL League Two ahead of his senior season in 2016. 

“To be a part of a new team in a new league for its first-ever season is an exciting opportunity,” Kirk said. “I’m honored for the opportunity to further my career and represent Lansing in 2019 and want to thank the Riverhounds organization and the Pittsburgh community for an incredible experience last year.”
